Legislative Council By-election * 823 voters exercised their right to vote * Vote counting on June 22

Nagpur, 18th: Voting for the Nagpur Local Authorities' Constituency by-election to the Maharashtra Legislative Council concluded smoothly today. Out of 836 eligible voters, 823 exercised their right to vote across 14 polling stations. A total of 13 members—11 from Nagpur city and one each from Umred and Kamptee—did not cast their votes. The election recorded a total voter turnout of approximately 98.44 percent. The two candidates contesting this election are Rajiv Potdar (BJP) and Atul Londhe (Indian National Congress).
There were 836 voters for the Nagpur Local Authorities' Constituency by-election, comprising 419 men and 417 women. A total of 14 polling stations were set up for the process. Voters from Narkhed and Mowad Municipal Councils cast their votes at the Narkhed Tehsil Office; voters from Katol Municipal Council and Kondhali Nagar Panchayat at the Katol Tehsil Office; voters from Kalmeshwar-Bramhani and Mohpa Municipal Councils at the Kalmeshwar Tehsil Office; voters from Saoner and Khapa Municipal Councils at the Saoner Tehsil Office; and voters from Parsivni Nagar Panchayat at the Parsivni Tehsil Office. Voters from the Kanhan-Pimpri Municipal Council and Kandri Nagar Panchayat cast their votes at the Kanhan-Pimpri Municipal Council office; voters from the Ramtek Municipal Council at the Ramtek Tehsil office; voters from the Mouda Nagar Panchayat at the Mouda Tehsil office; voters from the Kamptee Municipal Council, Mahadula Nagar Panchayat, Yerkheda Nagar Panchayat, Beedgaon Nagar Panchayat, Godhani Nagar Panchayat, Bahadura-Yerkheda Nagar Panchayat, and Kamptee Cantonment Board at the Kamptee Tehsil office; voters from the Municipal Corporation at the Nagpur City Tehsil office; voters from the Wanadongri and Wadi Municipal Councils, Nildoh Nagar Panchayat, Dingdoh Municipal Council, and Hingna Nagar Panchayat at the Wanadongri Municipal Council office; and voters from the Butibori Municipal Council and Besa-Pimpla Nagar Panchayat at the Butibori Municipal Council office.
Vote counting is scheduled for Monday, June 22. A strong room for the ballot boxes has been set up at the 'Bachat Bhavan' (Savings Building) within the District Collector's office complex in Nagpur; the vote counting will also take place at this same location on Monday, June 22.
