Mixed Weather in Vidarbha: Rain Brings Relief to the West, Heat Persists in the East

Nagpur: Vidarbha is currently experiencing mixed weather conditions. Over the past three days, the rainy atmosphere has caused daytime temperatures to drop below average levels. While a cool breeze is felt at night, the oppressive heat persists during the day.
According to the Meteorological Department's forecast, there is a possibility of stormy rains accompanied by lightning across all of Maharashtra—including Vidarbha—over the next few days. Consequently, temperatures could drop by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius. This is expected to provide significant relief to the districts of West Vidarbha, whereas the discomfort caused by the heat is likely to persist in East Vidarbha.
On Monday night, Amravati witnessed heavy rainfall; the city recorded 35.4 millimeters of precipitation. Scattered showers accompanied by stormy winds were also reported in Akola, Washim, and Yavatmal. As a result of the rain, temperatures in all districts—with the exception of Akola—dropped below the 40-degree mark. Akola, however, recorded a temperature of 41 degrees Celsius.
In East Vidarbha, temperatures in Gadchiroli and Gondia remain below 40 degrees Celsius. Wardha recorded a temperature of 42 degrees, while Chandrapur stood at 41.2 degrees. Nagpur recorded a temperature of 40.7 degrees Celsius.
Rainy weather conditions are likely to re-emerge between June 4 and June 6.
Arrival of the Monsoon:
The Southwest Monsoon is expected to arrive in Kerala very soon. It is likely to reach Maharashtra after June 11. Current forecasts suggest that the monsoon is expected to arrive in Vidarbha by June 15.
