Nagpur dt. 27: We have grown up understanding the joys and sorrows of orange growers. So be aware of their problems. It is necessary to find a solution to these problems and the grower is currently suffering due to the leakage of orange fruit. This should be researched. The exact cure must be found. For this, orange growers, Central Citrus Fruit Research Institute, Dr. Punjabrao Deshmukh Krishi Vidyapeeth Akola will organize workshops every month, said Sunil Kedar, Minister of State for Animal Husbandry, Sports and Youth Welfare.
      He was speaking as the chief guest at a fruit thrift management workshop organized by the Central Citrus Fruit Research Institute (ICAR-CCRI) under the Indian Agricultural Research Center. ICAR-CCRI Director Dr. Dr. Dilip Ghosh, Deputy Director General of Horticulture, ICAR B. K. Pandey, Dr. Punjabrao Deshmukh Krishi Vidyapeeth Akola's Director of Research Dr. Dr. Vilas Kharche, Chief Researcher, CCRI R. Dr. K. Sonkar, Associate Dean, Nagpur Agricultural University D. M. Panchbhai Joint Director Shankar Totwar and other dignitaries were present.
      The workshop was attended by a large number of orange growers from Amravati and Nagpur divisions. Fruits have been seen in some parts of the region due to bad weather. The seminar was organized by the Indian Institute of Agricultural Research (IARA) to manage the rainy season orchards in orange and citrus orchards. Sunil Kedar was the chief guest at the event.
     Speaking on the occasion, Sunil Kedar lauded the Indian farmers for contributing to the economic condition of the country when all industries were closed during the Corona period. We have studied the problems of orange growers in Nagpur area. However, in order to improve this, farmers should take the help of new technology. For this, good quality cuttings should reach the farmers through CCRI. Also, Nagpur orange should get global market. He directed to do research in this regard. He directed to understand the problems of the farmers and find solutions.
Officers working at the field level should go to the field and find out the problem and how to use modern technology on it. For this, the guidance of this center should be taken. Some guidance should also be given online to the farmers going to remote areas. This should be discussed, he said.
   The Minister should be present at the dialogue between farmers and scientists. Now is the time. Some farmers stood up at the event and requested for intervention in the question. Therefore, the ministers who came for guidance postponed the pre-arranged tour and listened to the problems of the farmers. He directed the Agriculture Department officials of Nagpur and Amravati divisions to resolve all the issues present and submit a report within a week. He himself intervened in the Q&A session between the scientists and the farmers and directed to solve the problems in time. Various literature was published during this time. Demands from orange growers
CCRI should make the clause available to the farmers.
No grants but appeal for useful guidance.
Israeli and Spanish varieties of oranges should be imported.
Pests and diseases on fruit crops should be tested.
Every farmer should be given a booklet on orange production.
Soil testing should be facilitated at every taluka level.
The university should pay attention to crop nutrition.
Pressure group should be formed like grape growers in Western Maharashtra.
