Covid-19 induced restrictions are being gradually eased in Maharashtra as the number of cases is on the decline. Chief Minister’s Office has said that amusement parks, auditoriums, and theaters in the state will be opened from October 22. It also added that the guidelines for extending the hours of restaurants and shops across the state will be out soon. A meeting between Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray and Covid task force was held on Monday in which the decision was taken.
Meanwhile, after heavy rain in September and October extensively damaged market-ready crops, prices of onions and tomatoes have seen a steady rise in the last couple of months. This is the first time this year when vegetables have seen a good price rally in both the wholesale and retail markets.
Maharashtra CMO also said that the issue of vaccination to children was also discussed in the meeting. The CM has instructed the Public Health Department to keep in regular touch with the central government regarding updates on the vaccination of children and ensure prompt arrangements once approvals are given to the state.
