Record rainfall in Jalgaon district since 2015; heavy rainfall in 14 talukas, 152 mm recorded in Amalner
Jalgaon: Heavy rains that began on Thursday night have lashed the entire Jalgaon district. A staggering 103 mm of rainfall was recorded in the district over the last 24 hours, marking the highest single-day rainfall since 2015.
This torrential downpour has bridged a 25% rainfall deficit in just one day, bringing the district's total average rainfall to 106%. Of the district's 15 talukas, 14—with the exception of Chalisgaon—have recorded heavy rainfall.
Highest rainfall in Amalner; Kalamsare village surrounded by floodwaters
Amalner taluka recorded the highest rainfall in the district at 152 mm. Kalamsare village in Amalner taluka is surrounded by floodwaters on all sides, cutting off its connectivity. Medical services have been disrupted as floodwaters entered the local Primary Health Centre. All ST (State Transport) bus services from Amalner to Kalamsare have been suspended. Many schools declared an impromptu holiday due to waterlogging in low-lying areas of Amalner city.
10 gates of Aner Dam opened
All 10 gates of the Aner Dam have been opened due to continuous rainfall in the Velode area of ??Chopda taluka and at the source of the Aner River. With a massive discharge of water from the dam, the Aner River is experiencing its heaviest flooding in two years. A flood alert has been issued to villages along the riverbanks.

Devgaon (Parola Taluka): Water has entered many homes, causing significant damage to residents' property. Girna Belt: Persistent heavy rainfall since 5 AM has led to water accumulation in the fields, causing massive damage to crops.
Wadji (Bhadgaon Taluka): A major flood in the local stream has washed away cattle sheds situated along its banks.
The district administration has urged all citizens and residents living near the riverbanks to remain alert and has kept emergency response teams on standby.
