Sonam Wangchuk Reaches Srinagar via Vande Bharat; Awed by Chenab Bridge, Expresses Pride in Indian Railways
Jammu & Kashmir: Social activist Sonam Wangchuk, who recently returned home after staging a hunger strike at Delhi's Jantar Mantar regarding the NEET exam issue, has reached Srinagar from Delhi via the Vande Bharat Express. He will proceed to Ladakh from there.
Sharing a video on social media, Sonam Wangchuk said, "We are on our way to Ladakh. Trains are my favorite mode of travel. The Vande Bharat service has commenced on the Delhi-Srinagar route. This was my first experience traveling on the Vande Bharat train. I wanted to see the railway bridge built over the Chenab River. It was a wonderful experience. I feel proud of the Indian Railways."
He added that after resting for a day in Kashmir—enjoying the clean air and water—he has now set out for Ladakh. He expressed happiness that a bill regarding examination reforms has been introduced in Parliament. He hoped that reforms would continue not just in examinations, but across the entire education system.
Urging the government, he said, "Please honor the written agreements made with me and the CJP. No action should be taken, nor should any FIRs be filed, against the protesting students. Let us foster an atmosphere of trust among the younger generation and work together to build the nation and make India great again."
