Women should participate in the decision making process - Hemraj Bagul
Nagpur, Dec 8: Conscious efforts need to be made on various fronts to establish gender equality in the society. Significant increase in women's participation in decision-making in all areas will definitely help women to get justice as well as maintain social balance. Hemraj Bagul, Director, Directorate General of Information and Public Relations, Nagpur-Amravati, said that women should make efforts in this regard.
A special program on the occasion of International Women's Day was organized at the Divisional Information Center in Sitabardi today. Bagul was speaking as the chief guest at this time. District Information Officer Praveen Take, Special Operations Officer Anil Gadekar etc. were present on the occasion.
Gender equality must begin with oneself. Saying this, Bagul said that women in progressive Maharashtra are at the forefront in all fields today. This is the result of the active work of various social reformers. However, the goal of gender equality has not been fully achieved. In some areas, women are still marginalized. Therefore, they do not have a decisive role in the decision-making process in that area. Women's issues will not be completely resolved until it is created. Society needs to develop awareness to understand women. Because of the sensitive society, oppression and injustice against women will definitely stop. The lockdown caused by the Corona epidemic had led to a large increase in domestic violence against women. Society needs to introspect to change this situation. Whether it is the burning case of a female professor at Hinganghat or the recent male victim of Ayesha Bano in Ahmedabad, the role of society is crucial to change this picture, he added. Bagul said this time.
Today's young generation should not play in the virtual world of social media but should communicate with their families about their problems. Family is your true friend. Women often do not speak out of fear. This increases the courage of the oppressors. For this, women need to speak, said Shri. Take expressed this time.
International Women's Day is a day of pride for every woman. It is important to address women's issues throughout the year, not just one day. Like a girl from childhood, boys also need to be taught etiquette and rituals from home. It is hoped that gender equality will be taught from home. Gadekar expressed this at the time.
All the women working in the information department as well as the students preparing for the competitive examinations in the departmental information center were also felicitated. The program was moderated by Smt. Aparna Yavalkar and thanked by Smt. Kavita Fale.
