Tim Cook Resigns as CEO; John Ternus to Become New CEO
A major leadership change has been announced at the American tech giant, Apple. The company's current CEO, Tim Cook, is set to step down from his position effective September 1, 2026, and John Ternus will take over the reins as the new CEO.
Tim Cook has led the company for nearly 15 years, having assumed the responsibility from Steve Jobs in 2011. Under his leadership, Apple achieved tremendous growth, and the company's market capitalization soared from billions of dollars to trillions of dollars.
Following his resignation, Tim Cook will not completely disassociate himself from the company. He will serve as Apple's Executive Chairman and contribute to global strategic decision-making.
Meanwhile, John Ternus currently oversees Hardware Engineering at Apple.
