"Why have you come here?" Khaire's direct question to Mamoo; controversy escalates in the UBT group over Rashid Mamoo's candidature

Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: A major controversy has erupted in the Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) group ahead of the municipal corporation elections. Senior leader and former MP Chandrakant Khaire has strongly opposed the entry of former mayor Rashid Mamoo into the party and his potential candidature. Khaire has made serious allegations against Leader of the Opposition Ambadas Danve, claiming that Rashid Mamoo was involved in the 1986 riots.
Khaire said, "On January 16, 1986, the Shiv Sena had taken out a march for the Uniform Civil Code. At that time, stone-pelting took place under the leadership of Rashid Mamoo. We have suffered those attacks. Taking such a person into the party is a big mistake. This will reduce 50,000 Hindu votes." When Rashid Mamoo came to Sena Bhavan to meet Khaire, Khaire directly asked him, "Why have you come here?" and opposed giving him the candidature.
Khaire also indirectly criticized Uddhav Thackeray, saying, "Doesn't the party chief know the history?" He also warned that if Rashid Mamoo is given a ticket, he will not go to that area for campaigning. He said that instead, they are considering giving the candidature to a retired police officer.
On the other hand, Guardian Minister Sanjay Shirsat criticized the Thackeray group by calling it the "UBT Mamoo party." Attention is now focused on whether this controversy will affect the unity of the Thackeray group in the municipal corporation elections.
