- 19 vehicles including bulletproof vehicles in police service
Gadchiroli, 6th, State Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis today reached Kawande village on Maharashtra-Chhattisgarh border. He became the first Chief Minister of the state to visit this extremely remote and Naxal-affected area. In his presence, 12 Naxalites carrying a bounty of crores surrendered along with their weapons. This is the first such incident of surrendering along with their weapons.
A mass wedding ceremony of 13 former Naxalites who had surrendered earlier was also organized in Gadchiroli today, he attended it and wished the newlyweds a happy new life. In the evening, he felicitated the C-60 jawans and presented them with state-of-the-art AK-103 weapons and ASMI pistols, bulletproof jackets. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis also praised their bravery on this occasion. 19 four-wheelers have been purchased from the District Planning Development Fund. Some of them are bulletproof vehicles. He handed over their keys to the police force today. Minister Ashish Jaiswal, MLA Dharmaraobaba Atram, MLA Dr. Milind Narote, Deputy Inspector General of Police Ankit Goyal, District Collector Avishyant Panda, District Superintendent of Police Nilotpal and other dignitaries were present during this visit.
Favouring C-60 jawans
Speaking at the felicitation program of C-60 jawans, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said that today I visited Kawande Outpost and interacted with the villagers. Our police force constructed Kawande Outpost in just 24 hours. This is not just a police station, but an initiative to bring government and administration to the people. Where there was a lack of security, police stations are being opened and governance and administration are being brought to the people. 6 such outposts have been set up in the last two years. In the last one and a half years, 28 Maoists have been killed, 31 Maoists have been arrested, and 44 people have surrendered. This is a new record. Many who had huge bounties on them are now leaving Maoism and returning to normal life. Our battle is now in its final stage. Our soldiers carried out very difficult operations in Kawande. I also saw the island where the Naxalites were hiding. It is commendable that you sent 4 Naxalites to Yamasadani by showing skill in a place where their heads would sink in the water. Our target is to eradicate Naxalism by March 2026. Naxal recruitment had completely stopped in Maharashtra for 4 years. But, it used to happen from other states. But, Union Home Minister Amit Shah has taken very tough steps and now Naxalism is on the verge of ending.
Today, 12 Naxalites surrendered. They had a reward of more than Rs 1 crore. They have surrendered with sophisticated weapons. We gifted them a copy of the Constitution of India today. Industries like Lloyd's have made a big contribution in rehabilitation. We want to make this district employment-rich and develop it as the steel city of India. While doing this, the government is determined to do this development while preserving its natural resources, water, land and forests.
Winds of change in Naxal-affected areas; Gadchiroli district will become an industrial hub!
Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis directly interacted with the people at a beneficiary gathering organized in the remote and Naxal-affected Kawande area near the Chhattisgarh border, when he said that we are determined to make Gadchiroli a Naxal-free and industrially capable district. The winds of change have started blowing in the Naxal-affected areas due to the joint efforts of the government and the administration, and the trust of the people in the government has increased as the government services are reaching the citizens directly. This is the true people-oriented development process. Camps were recently held under the ‘Dharti Aaba’ campaign in Kawande, Nelgunda and Pengunda. A total of 987 benefits of various schemes were distributed to 533 beneficiaries in these camps.
On this occasion, benefits of schemes like Ayushman Bharat, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, Food Security Yojana, PM Kisan Samman Nidhi, MNREGA Job Card, Screening and Anemia Checkup, Aadhaar Updating, Caste Certificate etc. were distributed by Chief Minister Fadnavis. Officers and employees of Revenue, Health, Agriculture, Social Justice, Panchayat Raj, Women and Child Welfare, Forest Department, Police and Integrated Tribal Development Project participated in this activity.
Inspection of the bridge connecting Maharashtra-Chhattisgarh state through drone
The bridge on the Maharashtra-Chhattisgarh border will be an important pillar to connect the citizens of Naxal-affected areas to the mainstream and provide basic facilities. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said on this occasion that it is the government's firm determination to improve connectivity in remote areas and bring the Ganga of development. He inspected the bridge with the help of drones.
A 120-meter-long bridge is currently being constructed over the 100-meter-wide Korma Nallah on State Highway 380, which will enable direct communication between the two states of Maharashtra and Chhattisgarh. Technical approval for this project of Rs 10 crore 70 lakh has been received, and the Chief Minister directed the public sector to complete this bridge as soon as possible. He expressed the hope that the construction of this bridge will also provide easy communication facilities to the remote villages of Gadchiroli district, which will be of great help in effectively reaching the services and development programs of the administration.
