Dark shadow of crime in the holy premises of the ashram: Shocking news of the loss of 17 girls

New Delhi, September 24, 2025 (Special Correspondent): Shocking news has come out from Delhi that the dark shadow of crime has entered the ashrams running in the name of spirituality and devotion. In a branch of a famous South Indian ashram in the Vasant Kunj area, Swami Chaitanyananand Saraswati (alias Partha Sarathi) is facing serious allegations of sexually harassing 17 girls. However, inside this ashram, which seems to be a symbol of purity and peace from the outside, there has been a stir due to obscene language, abusive messages and pressure for physical relations. After the matter came to light, the police have registered a case and the accused Swami is absconding. This incident has shaken the faith in spiritual institutions and created a stir in the society.
According to information received in this case, EWS (Economically Weaker Section) scholarship holders were being trained for PGDM (Post Graduate Diploma in Management) courses through an organization called Shri Sharda Institute of Indian Management (SSIM). Classes are conducted in two sessions in this ashram, in which more than 35 girls participated. Out of these, 17 girls have filed a complaint against Swami Chaitanyananand. According to the complaint, Swami called the girls alone and used obscene language, sent them humiliating messages and pressured them to establish physical relations. Apart from this, it is alleged that some female employees and wardens of the ashram also supported this crime. They were facilitating the girls for the accused's visits and were pressurizing them to 'forgive' them. Since all this was going on in the name of spirituality and education, this case has shocked everyone.
How did the case come to light?
This case is related to P.A. The police were approached after Murali filed a complaint about irregularities in the ashram, which led to the police going for an investigation. During the investigation, statements of 32 students were recorded, out of which 17 girls revealed details of sexual harassment. The girls said that Swami Chaitanyananand was the head of the ashram and the entire management was run on his orders. He called the girls alone on the pretext of giving 'special guidance' and then abused them. The police investigation has revealed that these incidents have adversely affected the mental and physical health of the girls. Taking immediate action, the police have registered a case under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). The case is mainly being investigated under the sections of sexual harassment, intimidation and criminal mischief. The investigating officer said, "We have collected CCTV footage from the ashram and sent it to the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL). This will provide evidence of the crime." Besides, a Volvo car belonging to the accused has been seized. The car had a fake United Nations number plate '39 United Nations 1'. After inquiry with the United Nations, it was revealed that no such number had been issued. Police say this is a new angle, which will shed more light on the background of the accused.
Background of the accused and history of the ashram
Swami Chaitanyanananda Saraswati was the head of the Delhi branch of a famous ashram in South India. His other name is known as Partha Sarathi. The ashram is known as a center for spirituality, yoga and education. Since it is associated with the Shri Sringeri Math, many devotees and students come here. However, after this incident, the ashram administration has removed Swami Chaitanyanananda from his post. He was the head of the management and education department of the ashram, due to which he could easily contact the students. Police investigation is finding clues that this case is not limited to the Swami alone, but some employees of the ashram may be involved in it. Since this ashram is located in an upper-class area like Vasant Kunj, this incident has also created fear among the local residents. "We live near the ashram, but had no idea what was going on inside," said a local resident.
The social and legal implications of the case
This case is not limited to just one ashram, but shows the betrayal of the entire spiritual community. Often such institutions are run in the name of famous people, but crimes are committed under their name. According to the Women's Safety Acts, sexual harassment cases are punishable by law. The statements of 16 victims have been presented before the Patiala court, which has ordered immediate action. The police investigation team is looking for the accused and the entire system in the ashram is being harassed. "We will not sit still until this matter is revealed," the victim girls told the media.
The incident has raised questions about the safety of women. Such institutions, especially for scholarship students, are expected to be safe. However, the opposite picture has emerged here. Social activists say that justice needs to be done immediately in such cases. The central government has also pressed for stricter rules to be imposed on such ashrams.
Further investigation and expectations
The police said that investigation teams have been sent to various places to trace the accused Swami Chaitanyananand. All the documents, financial transactions and employee lists of the ashram are being investigated.
