Maharashtra Medical Council Election - Voting to take place on April 26, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Nagpur, April 24: The election schedule for the Maharashtra Medical Council Election 2026 has been officially announced. Accordingly, to elect 9 members to the Maharashtra Medical Council, 14 polling stations have been established at the Government Medical College and Super Specialty Hospital, Nagpur, for voters residing in the Nagpur district. A total of 8,455 voters—comprising 4,349 men and 4,106 women—are expected to exercise their franchise at these centers. Under the supervision of the District Collector, voting for this election will be conducted between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM.
For this election, medical practitioners (R.M.P.) registered with the Maharashtra Medical Council, as well as voters whose names are included in the electoral roll, shall be eligible to cast their votes. To establish their identity at the polling station, voters are required to present the original copy of one of the following photo-bearing identity cards. Identity Card issued by the Maharashtra Medical Council; Registration Certificate issued by the Maharashtra Medical Council (if the said Registration Certificate does not bear a photograph, other photo identity proofs will be considered for identification purposes); Voter Photo Identity Card (EPIC) issued by the Election Commission of India; Aadhaar Card; MNREGA Job Card; Passbook with a photograph issued by a Bank or Post Office; Health Insurance Smart Card issued under a scheme of the Ministry of Labour; Driving License; PAN Card; Smart Card issued under the National Population Register by the Registrar General of India; Indian Passport; Pension documents bearing a photograph; Service Identity Card bearing a photograph, issued to employees by the Central Government, State Government, Public Sector Undertakings, or Public Limited Companies; Official Identity Card issued to Members of Parliament, Members of the Legislative Assembly, or Members of the Legislative Council; and Unique Disability ID (UDID) Card issued by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India.
If voters present any one of the aforementioned proofs at the polling station to establish their identity, they will be permitted to cast their vote. Bringing items such as cell phones, mobile phones, cameras, spy pens, smartwatches, electronic gadgets, etc., into the polling station is strictly prohibited. Therefore, it is mandatory for voters to carry a hard copy of their identity document for identification purposes.
