Nana Patole’s 'Operation Vulture' Attack; Jyoti Waghmare’s Strong Rebuttal

Mumbai, June 17, 2026: The rebellion by six Members of Parliament (MPs) from the Uddhav Thackeray faction has caused a major stir in Maharashtra's politics. Against the backdrop of these MPs forming a new group under the banner of 'Operation Tiger,' Congress State President Nana Patole has leveled sharp criticism. He dubbed the move 'Operation Vulture' and alleged that it amounted to the murder of democracy.
Speaking to the media, Nana Patole said, "This is not 'Operation Tiger'; it is outright 'Operation Vulture.' This act constitutes a betrayal of the ideology and the trust reposed in them by the people. Do not insult the tiger; these are people tearing off chunks of power for their own selfish interests."
Anger from Shinde Sena MP:
Shinde Sena MP Jyoti Waghmare reacted strongly to Nana Patole's statement. She said, "What Nana Patole is saying might well apply to himself. One would have to ask him exactly whom he is referring to."
This development has dealt a significant blow to the Uddhav Thackeray faction, and political equations in the state are likely to shift in the near future. There is already talk that the new group of rebel MPs will strengthen the ruling Mahayuti alliance.
