Prashant Kishor still leading in Bankipur by-election; BJP's replacement candidate putting up a fierce fight for every single vote!
Patna: The first four rounds of vote counting for the high-stakes Bankipur Assembly by-election in Bihar have concluded. Prashant Kishor, founder of the Jan Suraaj Party, has established a lead of 1,145 votes in this traditional BJP stronghold.
Prashant Kishor maintained the lead in three of the four rounds. However, BJP candidate Neeraj Kumar Sinha put up a tough fight, leading by one vote in one round and by 17 votes in the fourth round.

Neeraj Kumar Sinha (BJP): 5,124 votes
Rekha Kumari (RJD): 884 votes
In the first round, Prashant Kishor dealt a blow to the BJP by securing a significant lead of 862 votes. He extended his lead to 1,163 votes across the second and third rounds. Although the BJP candidate secured 1,254 votes in the fourth round—gaining a narrow edge of 17 votes in that specific round—Prashant Kishor remains ahead by 1,145 votes in the overall tally.
Analysts believe that since this is a BJP stronghold, the 1,145-vote lead could be overturned at any moment. RJD candidate Rekha Kumari has fallen far behind in the race.
