Raje Raghuji Bhosale's historical sword to be brought to Mumbai on Monday
-*Unveiling to be held in the presence of the Chief Minister
Mumbai, Date 17: Shrimant Raje Raghuji Bhosale's historical sword will arrive in Mumbai tomorrow on August 18 and will be given a grand welcome by the Maharashtra government at the Mumbai International Airport. The unveiling ceremony will be held in the evening in the presence of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.
Shrimant Raje Raghuji Bhosale's historical sword was won by the Maharashtra government at an auction and recently Cultural Affairs Minister Adv. Ashish Shelar took possession of this sword in London and it will arrive in Mumbai tomorrow on August 18. Cultural Affairs Minister Adv. Ashish Shelar will receive this historical sword from the Airport Authority at 10 am. After that, after paying homage to the statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj at the airport, a bike rally will be held, the sword will be placed on a chariot and taken to the P. L. Deshpande Maharashtra Kala Academy.
Meanwhile, at 6 pm, the Cultural Affairs Department, Directorate of Archaeology and Museums,

P.L. Deshpande Maharashtra Kala Academy has organized a "Sena Saheb Subha Parakram Darshan" ceremony. In this program, the historical sword exhibition of Shrimant Raje Raghuji Bhosale will be inaugurated and dedicated by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. The program will be attended by Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Ajit Pawar, Cultural Affairs and Information Technology and Mumbai Suburban Guardian Minister Adv. Ashish Shelar. Shrimant Mudhoji Raje Bhosale, a descendant of Shrimant Raje Raghuji Bhosale, will be a special guest and Cultural Affairs Department Secretary Dr. Kiran Kulkarni, (B.P.S.), local MP Anil Desai, local MLA, Mahesh Sawant have also been invited.
Tomorrow, Monday, 18 August 2025 at 6 pm, P.L. Deshpande Maharashtra Kala Academy, Prabhadevi, Mumbai is going to host this program. This program will be open to all. For this, everyone should be present, Dr. Tejas Madan Garge, Director of the Directorate of Archaeology and Museums, Minal Joglekar, Director of P.L. Deshpande Maharashtra Kala Academy and Vibhishan Chavare, Director of the Cultural Directorate have appealed.
Sword Exhibition
An exhibition of the sword of Shrimant Sena Saheb Subha Raghujiraje Bhosale brought from England and information about twelve heritage listed forts will be held from 19th to 25th August 2025, from 11 am to 7 pm, at the art gallery of P.L. Deshpande Maharashtra Kala Academy, Prabhadevi, Mumbai. This exhibition will be open to all free of cost.
