Take preventive measures against dengue, follow dry days - Prajakta Lavangare

Nagpur, dt. 7: Dengue is on the rise in six districts of the division including Nagpur city. Accelerate the preventive measures being taken by the administration. Divisional Commissioner Prajakta Lavangare appealed to the citizens to observe 'Dry Day' recognizing their responsibility.
 She said that dengue fever or dengue fever is a viral disease. It is transmitted by the bite of the Aedes aegypti mosquito. It is an acute flu-like illness. This disease can occur in two ways. These include dengue fever and dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF) which can lead to death if a dengue fever patient is delayed for treatment. Therefore, it is very important for every citizen to take precautions. Dengue fever was also found in young children. Symptoms of dengue include headache and eye pain, limb pain, weakness, red rash on the limbs and severe body aches. This serious form of the disease is transmitted by the bite of a female mosquito called dengue. The only way to stop the spread of dengue is to control these mosquitoes. Not allowing water to accumulate around the house, emptying the stored water from time to time can prevent mosquitoes. Care should be taken that rain water does not stop anywhere in the premises of the house. He also appealed for a 'dry day' one day a week. If a person in the house has a fever and symptoms, he should be rushed to the nearest hospital for treatment. Municipal Corporations, Municipalities, Zilla Parishads, Health Departments are taking preventive measures against dengue.
