Mumbai: 1. Ramdas Kadam hits back regarding the '500-crore' audio clip; claims the voices belong to the BJP.
2. The timing of Jarange’s clip is suspicious; a major assertion by Ramdas Kadam.
3. Whose voices are in the audio clip? Shinde-led Shiv Sena leaders respond.
News: Following a press conference today where Maratha reservation agitation leader Manoj Jarange Patil played an audio clip allegedly concerning a transaction of 500 crore rupees, senior Shinde-led Shiv Sena leader Ramdas Kadam issued an immediate response. It is reported that the clip contains remarks regarding Eknath Shinde.
Speaking to the media, Ramdas Kadam questioned both the authenticity and the timing of the clip. He asked, "How has this clip surfaced now, after two to two-and-a-half years? Why didn't it emerge during the Legislative Assembly elections?"
Making a significant claim, Kadam stated, "The three or four individuals speaking in this clip are from the BJP. There is no doubt about it. I have heard the clip, and I can say this clearly."
He further explained that the clip appears to be from a conference call, involving connections to Sambhajinagar, Thane, and Mumbai. "Anyone could sit on a conference call and claim that 'so-and-so was given a thousand crore' or 'others were given two thousand crore'—but such claims have no basis or substance," he remarked.
Advising Jarange Patil, Ramdas Kadam suggested that if such allegations are being used to defame Eknath Shinde, then Jarange Patil ought to stand in support of Shinde instead. He further stated that Shinde has made a significant contribution toward securing justice for the Maratha community. Kadam made another revelation, claiming that he possesses an additional clip from a confidential meeting involving Jarange Patil. He noted that a BJP MLA was present at that meeting and remarked, "More than half of those sitting here are Shinde’s cronies." Pointing out that the clip is dated October 14, 2024, Kadam questioned why Jarange Patil had kept it in his possession for two to two-and-a-half years. He asserted that the exact reason behind this must be clarified. This response from Ramdas Kadam is considered significant amidst the ongoing controversy surrounding Maratha reservation and the exchange of political accusations.
