VCK, a Supporter of TVK, Issues Refutation; Dismisses Rumors of CM Offer in DMK-AIADMK Alliance

Chennai: Thol Thirumavalavan—MP and chief of the Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK), a party that extended last-minute support to the Thalapathy Vijay-led Tamizhaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) in Tamil Nadu—issued a significant statement on Thursday.
While categorically refuting reports circulating in the local media, Thirumavalavan stated, "News reports suggesting that I was offered the post of Chief Minister within a potential alliance between the DMK and AIADMK are false. Tamil society is not yet ready for this."
Thirumavalavan, a veteran Dalit leader from Tamil Nadu and a Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha), had initially extended his support to the Congress and Left parties. However, after careful deliberation, he subsequently announced his support for Thalapathy Vijay's TVK. Following this, the Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) also pledged its support to the TVK.
Thirumavalavan's unequivocal stance has once again sparked a debate regarding the evolving political dynamics in Tamil Nadu. Given the support that the TVK has currently garnered, the strategies of the opposition parties in the state are likely to take a new turn.
