Vilas Gajghate Appointed New President of Dikshabhumi Memorial Committee; Unanimous Selection by Board of Trustees

Nagpur: Vilas Gajghate has been unanimously elected as the President of the Dikshabhumi Memorial Committee, established in honor of Param Pujya Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar. This decision was reached during a crucial meeting of the Board of Trustees.
The meeting of the committee's trustees took place on Monday. Detailed discussions were held regarding the organization's administrative, legal, and statutory matters. Convened under the directives of the Deputy Commissioner (Charity), Nagpur, the meeting saw all trustees resolve to steer the development of Dikshabhumi in a new direction and implement a transparent, legally compliant administration.
At the outset of the meeting, Dr. Pradeep Aglawe was selected to preside over the proceedings. Trustees present included Dr. Kamlatai Gavai, Dr. Rajendra Gavai, N. R. Sute, Dr. D. B. Dabhade, Dr. Chandrashekhar Meshram, Vilas Gajghate, and Bhante Nagdipankar.
Following discussions regarding the new presidency, the trustees expressed their confidence in Vilas Gajghate and requested him to accept the responsibility. Upon his consent, he was elected unanimously.
The meeting emphasized accelerating development works while upholding the prestige, sanctity, and historical legacy of Dikshabhumi. It also focused on making the administration more accountable and transparent and ensuring the organization's operations remain within the legal framework. A resolution was passed to achieve the holistic development of Dikshabhumi through collective effort, while preserving the ideological legacy of Bharat Ratna Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar.
This appointment is being welcomed by the Ambedkarite community, with expectations that it will bring stability and transparency to the management of Dikshabhumi and prioritize its development.
