224 Iranian civilians killed in Israeli air strike, Tehran warns of strong retaliation

Tehran: Iran has issued an official statement confirming the death of 224 civilians and injuries to 1,257 people after the Israeli army carried out an air strike on Tehran on June 13. Iran has termed this attack as Israel's open violation of its sovereignty and territorial integrity.
Israel's brutal attack, innocent civilians became target
Iran's Foreign Ministry said that the Israeli army targeted residential areas, hospitals and research centers, in which women and children were also killed. This attack is a violation of Article 2 (4) of the United Nations Charter, which prohibits military action against the sovereignty of any country. Iran called it part of Israel's expansionist and aggressive policies.
Iran claims right to self-defense
Iran cited Article 51 of the United Nations Charter and said that it has full right to self-defense. Tehran appealed to the international community to condemn Israel's "war crimes" and stop this action that endangers global peace. Iran also said that it was participating in nuclear negotiations with the US, yet Israel carried out this attack.
Warning of serious consequences to Israel
Iran warned Israel that this attack will have serious consequences and Israel and its supporters will be responsible for it. Iran accused Israel of secretly developing nuclear weapons and not following the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT). Tehran said that it is hypocrisy for a non-NPT country to attack an NPT member country (Iran).
Retaliatory military action launched
Iran announced that it has launched retaliatory attacks on Israeli military bases in self-defense. Iran called Israel the main cause of instability in West Asia and said that its defensive policy is aimed at ensuring regional security.
Israel accused of war crimes
Iran claimed that Israel is deliberately targeting civilian structures, which is a war crime. Tehran said that its military action is purely defensive, while Israel's aggressive policies are a threat to regional peace.
