Yuvraj, Raina, Harbhajan questioned in online betting case; ED also eyes Sonu Sood, Urvashi

Online Betting: Many big names have been questioned in the online betting case. ED sources have given information about this. ED questioned former Indian cricketers Yuvraj Singh, Harbhajan Singh and Suresh Raina. Along with this, Bollywood actors Sonu Sood and Urvashi Rautela are also being questioned in this case.
This action of the ED is being taken to find out why banned platforms are being promoted. These include One Bet, Fair Play and Mahadev online betting platforms. In this regard, the ED is taking action against former cricketers and Bollywood actors.
Recently, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in Kolkata has busted a big online betting and money laundering racket under the Money Laundering Act. To expose this racket, search operations were conducted at several locations spread across Delhi, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh and Assam, including West Bengal. During this operation, a large number of electronic devices and suspicious documents were seized.
During this operation, the ED froze 766 bank accounts and 17 debit and credit cards used for money transactions related to this illegal betting and gambling. The ED arrested two accused, Vishal Bhardwaj alias Badal Bhardwaj and Sonu Kumar Thakur under PMLA. Both were produced before a special court in Kolkata, from where they were sent to ED custody for 10 days.
Action against Mahadev Online Betting App closed
In April too, the Enforcement Directorate had taken major action in the Mahadev Online Betting App case. After that, the ED had raided various places in this case and froze assets worth Rs 573 crore. On 16 April 2025, raids were conducted at several locations in Delhi, Mumbai, Indore, Ahmedabad, Chandigarh, Chennai and Sambalpur (Odisha) under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act.
During these searches, the ED seized cash worth Rs 3.29 crore. Also, the ED froze securities, bonds and demat accounts worth over Rs 573 crore. Also, a large number of criminal documents and electronic evidence were seized.
