Big blow to Team India, Jasprit Bumrah will not play in all the Tests against England!

IND vs ENG :- The BCCI selection committee has announced the Indian cricket team for the Test series against England starting from June 20 on May 24. Chairman of the selection committee Ajit Agarkar has announced an 18-member team, and Shubman Gill has been given the responsibility of captaincy. Rishabh Pant has been selected as the vice-captain.
Along with this, a shocking news is that India's star and leading fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah is likely to not play the entire series. Speaking at the press conference, Agarkar said, "I don't think Bumrah will be available for all the five Test matches."
Rest due to workload management
Bumrah had informed the BCCI before selecting the team that he would not be able to play all the matches due to workload management. Therefore, there is still doubt about how many matches he will play. Agarkar said, “It is not yet decided whether Bumrah will play 3 or 4 matches. The final decision will be taken based on his fitness and the team’s needs.”
Important bowler – but health is more important
Jasprit Bumrah is India’s most match-winning bowler. He played all five matches of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy tour of Australia and performed strongly. However, he could not bowl in the second innings of the Sydney Test due to an injury. He had swelling in his back, due to which he had to undergo surgery and stay away from cricket for a few months.
Team India’s Test campaign – starts against England
The India-England Test series is the first series of the World Test Championship 2025-2027. Therefore, with the whole world’s attention on this series, the uncertainty over Jasprit Bumrah’s availability is a matter of increasing concern for Team India.
Conclusion:
If an experienced and leading bowler like Jasprit Bumrah is not available for the entire series, the Indian bowling department may face a challenge on the English pitches. The team management and coaching staff now have only one question – can they win without Bumrah?
