Mumbai, June 23, 2026: Senior social worker Anna Hazare has made a big comment for the first time after six MPs from the Uddhav Thackeray group joined Eknath Shinde’s Shiv Sena. Anna Hazare said, “There is democracy. How can we oppose democracy? If wrongdoing is being done, we should oppose it, but let people who are working for the good of the society do their work.”
Speaking at a press conference, Anna Hazare reacted strongly to political defection. He said, “Defection has become a part of politics. Changing parties is not right. There is no faith, loyalty and idealism behind it. Those who have true idealism, who want to do something for the country and society, never change parties. Only people who seek their own interests change parties.”
