Gas cylinder inflation anger! Congress workers try to infiltrate the District Collector's office in Nagpur
Nagpur: Angered by the recent hike in LPG cylinder prices by the central government, the Congress party staged a massive protest in Nagpur city today. Around 11 am, local Congress leaders, women activists and youth gathered in front of the District Collector's office. Raising slogans like "Revoke the price hike, stop putting your hands in the pockets of the people", the activists stormed the main gate of the office.
A major disaster was averted due to timely intervention of the police, but some activists still tried to cross the gate. At this time, Congress district president Anil Deshmukh told the media, "This price hike is a new robbery on the people. The common man has been shocked by inflation. The BJP government does not understand the feelings of the people. We will continue to oppose this."
Around 150-200 Congress workers participated in this protest. The police detained some, but later released them. There was no official response from the District Collector's office. However, due to this incident, traffic in Nagpur city was disrupted for some time.
The Congress party has announced a statewide agitation in the coming days. It is being said that this price hike will increase the household expenditure of citizens by Rs 100-150.
