Iran gives India green signal on Hormuz route; New hope after attack on ‘Mayuri Nari’ ship

Amidst the global oil and gas crisis, there is some comforting news for India. According to reports, Iran has allowed Indian ships to safely pass through the Strait of Hormuz. Earlier, due to rising tensions with Israel and the US, Iran had banned this important sea route and warned of serious consequences for any ship passing through it.
News agency ANI quoted sources as saying that Iran has now assured Indian ships of safe passage. This decision is considered very important for India, as the Strait of Hormuz is one of the busiest and strategic sea routes in the world. A large amount of oil and gas is supplied from here.
Meanwhile, a major accident took place in the area on Wednesday. The cargo ship ‘Mayuri Nari’ registered in Thailand was attacked by an unidentified missile, which caused a massive fire on the ship. According to Reuters, the Omani Navy immediately launched a rescue operation after the incident. So far, 20 crew members on the ship have been safely evacuated, while three sailors are still missing. It is said that the search operation is underway.
The ship was heading from the Khalifa port in the United Arab Emirates to the Kandla port in Gujarat, India. After the attack, black smoke was seen rising from the ship and the crew had to abandon the ship with the help of life rafts.
In such a tense atmosphere, Iran's permission to allow Indian ships to pass safely is considered an important relief for India's energy supply and trade.591ms
