Rumors of energy crisis are false! LPG production increased by 28%, India's fuel security is completely intact - Hardeep Singh Puri

New Delhi: The central government has given an important clarification in the Lok Sabha regarding the global energy crisis that has arisen in the backdrop of conflicts in West Asia and the near closure of the Strait of Hormuz. Union Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas Hardeep Singh Puri said that this is the first such crisis in the history of global energy. However, due to the far-sighted and practical policies of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India's fuel security is completely secure.
Minister Hardeep Singh Puri said, "Don't believe the rumors; there has been a huge increase in LPG production." In the last five days, LPG production has been increased by 28% by giving special instructions to refineries, and there will be no shortage in the kitchens of 33 crore families in the country. This is the top priority of the government for the poor and deprived families. Domestic LPG supply is completely secure and CNG supply is running 100 percent smoothly.
Although demand has increased due to fear, the supply chain is completely intact. Strict orders have been issued to check the black market of gas cylinders. Earlier, 45 percent of India's crude oil was imported through the Strait of Hormuz, now 70 percent of the supply is coming through alternative routes. India has expanded its sources of crude oil to 40 countries instead of 27. Large quantities of crude oil and LNG are being imported from the US, Norway, Canada, Algeria and Russia. These cargoes are arriving at Indian ports every day.
To reduce the pressure on LPG, industries, hotels and restaurants have been allowed to use alternative fuels like biomass, RDF pellets and rock oil for a month. All refineries are operating at 100 percent or more capacity. Therefore, there is no shortage of petrol, diesel, kerosene, ATF and fuel oil.
Union Minister Puri appealed to the citizens not to be scared by rumours. India's fuel security is strong and the government is vigilant to keep everything under control, from the kitchen of the common man to the industrial sector.
