Iran Presents 10 Conditions to the US: Ceasefire, Lifting of Sanctions, and Troop Withdrawal in Exchange for Reopening the Strait of Hormuz!

Washington-Tehran: A significant development has occurred in the efforts to de-escalate tensions between the United States and Iran. US President Donald Trump has announced a two-week suspension of military action against Iran. This two-week truce is contingent upon the condition that the Strait of Hormuz be reopened.
Trump took this decision following requests from Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Army Chief Asim Munir. Through Pakistan, Iran has forwarded a 10-point proposal to the US, clearly outlining the terms for a ceasefire.
The key points of this proposal are as follows:
A commitment to non-violence
Iran to retain control over the Strait of Hormuz
Recognition of Iran's uranium enrichment program
The lifting of all primary sanctions
The lifting of all secondary sanctions
The annulment of all United Nations Security Council resolutions
The annulment of all resolutions by regulatory bodies
Payment of compensation to Iran
Withdrawal of US combat troops from the region
A ceasefire on all fronts, including the conflict against Hezbollah in Lebanon
Iran's Supreme National Security Council has clarified that this proposal does not signify a complete de-escalation of tensions on the ground or the absolute end of the war. It warned that any misstep would be met with a full-scale response.
Discussions are scheduled to commence in Islamabad on April 10, 2026. Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi stated that if attacks against Iran cease, Iran, too, will halt its operations. During this period, coordination will be established with the Iranian Armed Forces to ensure safe passage through the Strait of Hormuz.
China also intervened at the last moment in an effort to help de-escalate the tensions. Security alerts have been heightened across the Gulf nations. The talks in Islamabad are expected to last for approximately 15 days and could be extended if both sides reach an agreement.
This ceasefire is considered crucial for the global oil supply, as the closure of the Strait of Hormuz could have a significant impact on the global economy.
