*– Assurance of Fair Compensation and Rehabilitation
Nagpur, Dec. 4: The interests of farmers will be fully safeguarded during the process of acquiring land for proposed industries in the Chamorshi taluka of Gadchiroli district. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis gave an assurance that under no circumstances would coercion be used, and the concerned farmers would be provided with the most appropriate and maximum possible compensation.
Today at 'Ramgiri,' a delegation of farmers from Chamorshi taluka—led by Gadchiroli MLA Dr. Milind Narote—met with the Chief Minister. Joint Guardian Minister Adv. Ashish Jaiswal, along with other concerned officials, were present on this occasion.
The Chief Minister further stated that Gadchiroli district is advancing rapidly towards industrial development and is emerging as an 'Iron and Steel Hub.' Against this backdrop, while land acquisition is necessary for setting up industries, the government's objective is not to impose any form of compulsion upon the farmers. He affirmed that the land acquisition process would be implemented by finding a middle ground through mutual understanding and after holding detailed discussions with all concerned stakeholders.
Emphasizing that these industries would generate large-scale employment opportunities for the local populace, he stated that farmers who provide their land would be ensured not only fair compensation but also proper rehabilitation arrangements. He appealed to the farmers to adopt a positive stance and extend their cooperation, noting that it is the government's endeavor to involve everyone in the development process.
The Chief Minister further clarified that the government has absolutely no intention of forcibly acquiring anyone's land; rather, the effort will be to provide maximum benefits to those farmers who voluntarily offer their land. Furthermore, necessary steps will be taken to ensure that employment opportunities are made available to the local youth.
