NEET Paper Leak Case: CBI Turns Focus to Students and Parents; Investigating Financial Transactions

Pune: Following the arrest of several accused—including the alleged masterminds—in the NEET paper leak case, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has now shifted the focus of its inquiry toward the students and their parents. According to sources, 10 to 15 students and their parents are being interrogated daily in connection with this case.
The CBI is conducting a thorough verification of financial transactions, suspicious activities within the examination process, leads regarding the paper leak, and the contacts established between agents and other individuals involved. Based on information obtained from the accused, an investigation is currently underway to determine exactly how many questions were made available to the students, the specific channels through which the paper was leaked, and the total number of students who gained access to it.
In this case, the CBI has arrested Shivraj Motegaonkar, the Director of 'RCC Classes' in Latur; a special court in Pune has remanded him to CBI custody for nine days. Subsequently, the CBI conducted raids at both his office and his residence.
Additionally, several others have been arrested, including Prof. P.V. Kulkarni—considered to be a key mastermind—Manisha Gurunath Mandhare (a Biology teacher at a reputed college in Pune), Manisha Waghmare (the proprietor of a beauty parlor in Bibwewadi), and Dhananjay Lokhande from Rahuri in Ahilyanagar district.
The CBI is now intensifying pressure on students, parents, and other concerned individuals in an effort to completely unearth the entire racket. This case has cast a significant shadow of doubt over the transparency of the NEET examination, and all eyes are now fixed on what the ongoing investigation will ultimately reveal.
