Thalapathy Vijay's Government Also Rejects Hindi; Only Tamil and English Education to Continue

Chennai: Even after the change of power in Tamil Nadu, the state's language policy is set to remain completely unchanged. The government led by newly elected Chief Minister Thalapathy Vijay has clarified that the state's existing 'Two-Language Policy' will continue to be in force. Accordingly, only two languages—Tamil and English—will be taught in schools.
This decision suggests that Thalapathy Vijay is following in the footsteps of former Chief Minister M.K. Stalin. E. Rajmohan, the Education Minister in the government formed by the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) party, has issued a clarification regarding this matter.
Rajmohan stated, "The Two-Language Policy is not merely a government decision; it is a fundamental ideological tenet of the TVK party. We have no intention whatsoever of incorporating the Hindi language into the state's education system. Tamil Nadu will continue to adhere to an education system based solely on Tamil and English."
This policy has sparked resentment among supporters of the Hindi language within the state. However, the government has given clear indications that there will be no alteration to its stance.
