The Government of India has announced a total of 131 Padma Awards this year. This includes 5 Padma Vibhushan, 13 Padma Bhushan, and 113 Padma Shri awards. Among these recipients, there are 19 women and 16 posthumous awardees.
The Padma Vibhushan, Padma Bhushan, and Padma Shri awards will be conferred by President Droupadi Murmu. The Ministry of Home Affairs shared this information via social media.
The Padma Awards are among the highest civilian honors in the country. Instituted in 1954, these awards are announced annually on the occasion of Republic Day. These awards are bestowed in recognition of exceptional contributions in various fields, including Art, Literature, Education, Sports, Medicine, Social Work, Science, Engineering, Public Administration, and Trade & Industry.
