Former Editor of 'Tarun Bharat' and 'Lokshahi Varta' Newspapers; Breathes His Last at 89:
Nagpur (July 28): Veteran journalist Laxmanrao Joshi—known as a senior, scholarly, and principled figure in the field of journalism—passed away on Tuesday (the 28th) at 2:00 PM at a private hospital in Devanagar. He was 89 years old.
During his long career in journalism, he initially worked as a reporter for the daily newspaper 'Tarun Bharat'. After working as a journalist in Goa for a period, he returned to Nagpur and resumed his association with 'Tarun Bharat'. Later, serving as the editor of the newspaper 'Lokshahi Varta', he made significant contributions while upholding the traditions of journalistic integrity, fearless writing, and social commitment. His writings effectively gave voice to numerous social issues, and he provided invaluable guidance to aspiring journalists.
He is survived by two daughters. His son-in-law, Prakashrao Mulavkar, took care of the family and managed all related responsibilities. The funeral procession will commence on Wednesday, July 29, at 10:30 AM from his residence at 179, Pukhraj Tulip Apartment, Sahakar Nagar, and the last rites will be performed at the Sahakar Nagar crematorium. The passing of Laxmanrao Joshi marks a significant loss for the field of journalism.
