Three-Day World Peace Conference Organized in Nagpur — Cultural Programs Featuring Various Nations —

Nagpur, May 11: A World Peace Conference has been organized in Nagpur from May 15 to 17, 2026, under the joint auspices of the Sanghakaya Foundation, Indo-Asian Metta Foundation, Dikshabhumi Charitable Trust, Global United Educational and Social Society, and the Shatabdi Multipurpose Organization. Bhante Prashilaratna Gautam informed that key religious leaders from Sri Lanka, Myanmar, Thailand, South Korea, Nepal, Bhutan, Japan, Vietnam, Bangladesh, and Laos have been invited to attend this conference.
He stated that letters of acceptance regarding this invitation have been received from all the invitees. Religious heads from various faiths, scholars, as well as social and political leaders have been invited to participate in this conference. The event will be inaugurated on May 15, 2026, at the Kavivarya Suresh Bhat Auditorium in Reshimbagh, at the hands of Sri Lanka's Minister of Buddha Sasana, Wijeyadasa Rajapakshe. On this occasion, the Sanghanayakas (Chief Monks) from Bangladesh, South Korea, and Sri Lanka will attend as special guests.
On the second day, May 16, 2026, at the Vasantrao Deshpande Auditorium in Civil Lines, Nagpur, cultural performances (featuring dance and vocal music) representing the artistic heritage of Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, India, and Myanmar will be presented as part of a cultural exchange program. Additionally, on the evenings of May 16 and 17, 2026, starting at 7:00 PM, a musical extravaganza will be held at the Indora Ground in North Nagpur. Dr. Dhanashree Rajesh Burbure and Abhijit Kosambi will be among the performers participating in this event. Over these two days, Sister Animita—a renowned vocalist from Thailand—will present a special program centered on Buddhist culture. Bhante Prashilratna Gautam has appealed to everyone to attend the said program in large numbers. Ramesh Wankhede, Ratnadeep Rangari, Smita Wakade, Kshitij Gaikwad, Dinesh Shende, and others were present at the press conference.
