Bhayandar Tribal Land Scam: Pratap Sarnaik Demands Suspension of Additional Tehsildar

Bhayandar (Vasai-Virar): Serious allegations have been leveled against Revenue Department officials regarding the alleged illegal transfer of tribal lands in Bhayandar. Taking a firm stance on the matter, State Transport Minister Pratap Sarnaik has demanded that the Revenue Minister suspend the Additional Tehsildar involved.
An independent inquiry committee, appointed by the Thane District Collector following complaints of fraud against tribal citizens, submitted a report on the case. The report highlights discrepancies in revenue records, irregularities in the mutation process, and serious procedural violations by officials. Some cases also mention 'Seven Eleven Hotel Private Limited,' a company owned by BJP MLA Narendra Mehta.
In a letter to the Revenue Minister, Pratap Sarnaik stated that rules were violated in the tribal land transactions and urged that immediate suspension action be taken against the responsible officials. He remarked, "It is wrong for anyone to defraud the tribal citizens of my constituency, regardless of political affiliations. If officials are complicit in this, it is crucial that they face an inquiry and subsequent action."
This demand has once again brought the Bhayandar tribal land scam into the spotlight. Expectations are high that the Revenue Department will soon make a decision regarding this matter.
