Major decision following the TET paper leak scandal! All state government exams to go online from next year; re-examination to be free of cost.
Mumbai: Following the paper leak incident involving the Maharashtra State Teacher Eligibility Test (TET), School Education Minister Dada Bhuse made a significant announcement in the Legislative Assembly. Starting next year, all state government examinations, including the TET, will be conducted online. A high-level committee chaired by the Chief Secretary has been constituted for this purpose.
A Special Investigation Team (SIT) is investigating the TET paper leak case. Three individuals have been arrested so far in connection with the incident. Authorities are considering invoking MCOCA (Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act) against the guilty. The Thane Police had previously seized the original question paper from the suspects after laying a trap.
Minister Dada Bhuse stated in the House that:
The TET re-examination will be conducted in a completely transparent and disciplined manner.
No fee will be charged to candidates for the re-examination.
Infrastructure will be developed to conduct all examinations via a more secure and transparent online system starting next year.
This announcement has elicited a highly positive response from students and candidates. The decision is viewed as a crucial step toward curbing malpractices such as paper leaks.
