FIR filed in Delhi against 'Cockroach Janata Party' over AI-morphed photo incident; action taken ahead of October 2nd protest
A shocking incident has come to light where, during a protest at Jantar Mantar in Delhi, a 25-year-old woman's photo was morphed using Artificial Intelligence (AI) and displayed in an objectionable manner alongside a poster of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Based on a complaint filed by the victim, a case has been registered at the New Delhi Cyber ??Police Station against unknown persons under serious sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the Information Technology (IT) Act.
The 'Cockroach Janata Party' had recently announced a new protest. Meanwhile, an FIR has now been registered against them. Party founder Abhijit Deepke wrote in a post on 'X': "If Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar does not resign by tomorrow, the Cockroach Janata Party will launch its nationwide protest from Mumbai on October 2nd and expand it to other cities across India. Let us pledge to save democracy this Gandhi Jayanti."
The victim has alleged that organizers and spokespersons of the Cockroach Janata Party used AI tools to morph her personal photograph and used it publicly to tarnish her image.

According to the complaint filed by the 25-year-old victim—a resident of Budh Vihar Phase 2—she has been in a state of severe mental shock, fear, and stress following this incident.
According to the FIR, organizers obtained her photographs without her prior consent during the CJP protest at Jantar Mantar. The victim has made a serious allegation that, subsequently, her face was morphed onto an objectionable and controversial image of Prime Minister Narendra Modi using digital manipulation and ‘AI face-swapping’ tools, and that this poster was openly displayed during a protest.
She claims that these morphed posters were brandished before a large crowd during the protest and that obscene, indecent, and derogatory slogans were raised against her. She further stated that the accused recorded close-up videos of these posters and the sloganeering at the scene and deliberately circulated them on social media with the intent to humiliate her.
