'Rah-Veer' Scheme: Rs. 25,000 Cash Reward and Honour for Those Who Save Road Accident Victims!

New Delhi: Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari has made a major announcement for those who provide immediate assistance to victims of road accidents. While improving the 'Good Samaritan' scheme, individuals who take accident victims to the hospital will now receive a cash reward of Rs. 25,000 and a certificate of appreciation. Previously, this reward was only Rs. 5,000.
Gadkari said, "Many lives can be saved if accident victims are admitted to the hospital within the 'golden hour' after an accident. It is necessary to encourage those who provide such assistance." Under this scheme, the person providing assistance will be honoured with the title of 'Rah-Veer'. Also, such individuals will not be subjected to legal hassles or police investigations.
The government will provide cashless (free) treatment up to Rs. 1.5 lakh for the first seven days after the accident victim is admitted to the hospital. This scheme is not limited to national highways but will also apply to accidents on state highways, district roads, and rural roads.
In addition, agreements will be made with state governments to ensure that modern ambulances reach the accident site within 10 minutes. Gadkari said that millions of road accidents occur in India every year, resulting in many deaths. This scheme will be crucial in saving lives.
