Amidst widespread criticism, Muhammad Yunus takes strict action; 7 suspects detained in the murder of a Hindu youth

In the Mymensingh district of Bangladesh (Bhaluka area), a 27-year-old Hindu man, Dipu Chandra Das, was brutally beaten and murdered by a mob. This incident occurred against the backdrop of violence that erupted in the country after the death of Sharif Usman Hadi. The mob killed Dipu Chandra Das, accusing him of speaking derogatory words about Prophet Muhammad, and then tied his body to a tree and burned it.
The Chief Advisor of the interim government, Muhammad Yunus, strongly condemned the incident and informed through a social media post that the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB-14) had conducted raids in various locations and arrested 7 suspects. The arrested individuals include Mohammad Limon Sarkar (19), Mohammad Tariq Hossain (19), Mohammad Manik Mia (20), Irshad Ali (39), Nijum Uddin (20), Alamgir Hossain (38), and Mohammad Miraj Hossain Ekon (46).
Yunus stated, "Dipu was brutally beaten and murdered in a most heinous manner. The perpetrators will not be spared under any circumstances." The interim government has made it clear that there is no place for this kind of violence and has appealed to the citizens to maintain peace. An investigation is underway, and assurances have been given that the culprits will be severely punished.
